I set "Find a Moment" for mixed chorus and piano to a poem by Henry Berne:

"Find a moment
a moment that surrounds to you,
like a bowl of flowers,
like the stun of an embrace.

When the music sings,
the only song you need to hear,
a melody that moves you off your perch
on the crag,
whatever crag,
becomes a bit eternal once present,
always so, in its own ways.

The moment has nerve enough to stay -
invited or not!"
