Wally Kleucker has taught piano in Europe as well as the U. S. for over twenty years. Though he teaches students of all ages, he has written a series of music books that focus on children. His book, "Haydn and the Time Machine, " includes his own transcription of the "Farewell Symphony."
He studied piano at Indiana University with piano virtuoso, Jorge Bolet. While working on his doctorate at I. U., he received a grant from the Finlandia Foundation for postgraduate studies in music composition at the Sibelius Academy of Music in Helsinki with Finland's foremost contemporary composer, Einojuhani Rauttavaara. After studying in Finland he moved to Denmark where he lived for 16 years. In Europe a number of his orchestral compositions have been performed with the Danish Radio Light Orchestra, the Arhus Symphony Orchestra, and the Gothenborg Symphony of Sweden. His works have been broadcast in U.S., Demark and Sweden.
In 2002 he made a recording of his own arrangements of Christmas music throughout the world. The CD, "Peace on Earth," can be purchased on his website: http://PIANOIQ.TRIPOD.COM. He and his wife have three school children, one was born in Copenhagen and the other two in Charlotte, North Carolina.
